I purchased the same humidifier. Yes, it does work great in small rooms. But its high energy usage is a killer. Using it nightly plugged into a Kilo-Watt (wattage meter), we realized it contributed to a big portion of our electricity bill.
I don't think it's worth it for daily use. Occasional use, it's great though.
We're seeking out an evaporator humidifier since we need it to run almost continuously in our winters.

My first humidifier & I'm very pleased by: Tiger
I always lived in coastal areas where humidity was often at saturation point and coupled with summer heat was plain annoyance.
That said, I reentry moved to Nebraska where it's very dry in the winter.
Out if need, my 6 year old started developing a dry cough,I went and bought a humidifier and this was the only one for sale in sears at the time and so far I'm so happy with it.
I didn't think it was making a difference till I actually placed it in my kids room and once you walk in you immediately notice the difference in air quality.
Since this is my very first unit I am not an expert with larger ones or otters that use filters but what I can say is that it's easy to fill up, lasts a whole night on the high setting and so far works great. Mineral build up in the water inside the unit does occur but simply needs a simple rinse once or twice a week.
But as the review said, it is more suited towards small rooms.
Point of advice to maximize it's effectiveness, don't place it somewhere where your central heater is sucking air, it will just suck your humidifiers hard work, place it somewhere where the heater is blowing out air to disperse the steam evenly in the room and keep it far from the electric outlet and at least one foot away from objects that can provide a good surface for moisture buildup.
Enjoy your product.
